Lordstown Motors Corp. hired an outside advisory firm to handle its finances, increasing questions regarding what lies ahead for the electric truck startup that last week warned investors that it lacks sufficient funds.The Lordstown, Ohio-based company on Monday revealed that it engaged AP Services LLC, a subsidiary of AlixPartners LLP, as part of an executive reshuffling after a board report found imprecisions in some of the firm’s disclosures regarding truck preorders.AlixPartners Managing Directors Becky Roof and Mark Wakefield will be managing the overall engagement, according to a filing dated June 8, with Ms. Roof serving as a temporary chief financial officer at Lordstown Motors as part of her role at Alix Partners.At Lordstown Motors, Ms. Roof succeeds Julio Rodriguez, who stepped down after roughly two years as chief financial officer. Chief Executive Steve Burns also resigned and has been succeeded on an interim basis by Angela Strand, the company’s lead independent director, who also became chairman.
